NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says the western military alliance will help Ukraine defend its territorial sovereignty.

"NATO remains firm in our support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will continue to assist Ukraine to improve its stability to defend itself. We have seen some good progress in developing the necessary framework for reforms in the defence and security sector," said Stoltenberg.
