Another Canadian national has been beheaded in the Philippines by Abu Sayyaf militant group, after a ransom payment deadline lapsed.
The victim, Robert Hall, was the second Canadian hostage to be executed in two months after the group's demands for a ransom of 6 and a half million US dollars was not met.
The two Canadians, along with Hall's Filipina partner, and a Norwegian, were abducted in a raid of a resort on a southern island last September. Abu Sayyaf group is based in southern Philippines and is known for kidnapping, beheadings, and extortion. It also claims allegiance to al-Qaeda and ISIL.
