Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Beijing. He expressed his gratitude for her visit, and congratulated her on the success of the fourth China-Germany inter-governmental Consultation. Xi said the two nations should work together to seek closer cooperation on a new level, and deepen communication in foreign affairs and security.

Merkel agreed that the two sides should deepen their mutual trust, and implement the docking of Germany's "Industry 4.0" and "Made in China 2025". She said China and Germany should expand are as of cooperation, and support each other in hosting the G20 Summits this year and next.
