German Chancellor Angela Merkel is in China for a three-day visit. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is now holding a joint press conference with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel here in Beijing.

Merkel is on a three-day visit to China. It was her 9th visit to China as chancellor. Merkel is co-chairing the fourth round of China-Germany inter-governmental consultation with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. She will also meet with president Xi Jinping. Merkel is here with a strong business delegation.

Before meeting with Merkel,  Premier Li said collaboration on the two countries' industrial initiatives -- China's Made-in-China 2025 and Germany's Industry 4.0 -- will open new markets and advance smart manufacturing. While Merkel praised an inter-governmental consultation mechanism for boosting ties. Her trip will also bring her to northeastern industrial city of Shenyang.

Merkel said Germany's experience in industry structural reforms could be helpful to China.
