Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Beijing, the first of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's three-day visit to China.

Wang said their bilateral relationship has seen steady development and their strategic partnership has covered nearly all aspects. He said he was looking forward to the fourth round of German-Chinese government consultations on Monday.

The consultations will be on a range of issues, from foreign affairs and the economy to education, health and development.
