Thousands attend memorial service for Ali

A memorial service has been held in Louisville, Kentucky to remember boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Thousands attended the interfaith service held at a local sports arena. The ceremony was followed by a private burial.

Among those delivering eulogies to Ali were former U.S. President Bill Clinton and comedian Billy Crystal. Ali's wife, Lonnie Ali, thanked all who attended for helping to fulfill Ali's final wishes.

She said the family had been overwhelmed by the affection from fans around the world. The iconic boxer died last Friday aged 74.

The memorial service for Muhammad Ali started late, but that is to be expected someone with such an impact throughout the world.

"I love to see him to get all nationalities together. It's a big movement," said a mourner Debra Anderson.

"The thing he did with boxing is innovative in the ring. I think it's important to come to see him off the right way," said mourner Cameron Gracey.

"I don't think there will be somebody like him again, you know the transcends obviously the sports world," said mourner Steve.
