Regions south of the Yangtze River will experience heavy rains starting today until Sunday. Some areas can have rains of up to 160 millimeters. Thunderstorms along with strong gusts are expected to come in north China.
Many local weather authorities are warning residents to prepare for any rain-related disasters like floods and landslides. However, people in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are sweating under high temperatures. The Turpan Basin area could experience over 40 degrees Celsius.
