Nine people have died after a boat carring migrants sank off the Greek island of Crete. It's thought the boat had set out from north Africa and was en route to Italy when it capsized.
The Greek coast guard has rescued 340 migrants in the operation. The Internationl Organization for Migration estimates the vessel set sail with around 700 people on board.
The Greek coast guard hasn't confirmed these numbers. The survivors will be transferred to Italy, Malta, Egypt and Turkey.
