A fresh poll conducted by Guardian and ICM shows a tight vote in the upcoming Brexit referendum. The poll says 52 percent of those surveyed are in favour of leaving the EU while 48 percent were against the measure. Support for Brexit is running as high as 62 percent among skilled manual workers. Scotland is for remaining in the EU while voters in England and Wales would back Brexit.
OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria warns that a UK exit voting would be, quoting now, "a threat to the wellbeing of the UK". Gurria says a vote to leave the 28-country bloc would financially penalise the UK and could wipe a month's wages off Britons' potential incomes.
Rating agency Standard & Poor's says a vote to leave the EU could certainly affect Britain's rating. The agency added that a downgrade would push up the UK government's borrowing costs and hurt its standing in global markets.
