Turkey has recalled its ambassador to Germany in protest against a parliament resolution which declares the 1915 massacre of Armenians by Ottoman troops a genocide.
It comes at a time when Ankara's help is needed to control the inflow of migrants in Europe.
Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan has warned before this vote took place in the German Lower House of Parliament that the tie would be damaged between Germany and Turkey, between European Union and Turkey designed to stem the flow of migrants and refugees from Turkey into Europe.
But it's important to point out before this vote President Erdogan has played the impact of this vote. It's another deep difference of opinion between these two countries at a crucial moment, not just for Germany, for Turkey, but for the whole EU as well.
