Full coverage: International Children's Day
Not long after Children's Day, we have The Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on June 9th. To celebrate both events, volunteers in Changzhou, in eastern China's Jiangsu Province, have joined kids in a local community.
They begin by recounting the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival, then teach the kids how to make Zongzi - or rice dumplings -which play a central role in the festival. The kids also mold their Zongzi into various shapes and sizes. Another custom of the festival is to wear scented sachets to ward off evil, and the kids learn how to make these too.
Volunteers make zongzi with community kids.
