China wants to properly handle differences with neighbors through peaceful, diplomatic means, Li said at a meeting with delegates from the annual board meeting of the Asia News Network (ANN).
As the largest developing country in the world, China still has a long way to go in terms of modernization, he said, pledging the country will work with Asian countries to maintain a peaceful and stable international environment.
China prefers neighborhood diplomacy featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and firmly follows the path of peaceful development, the premier stressed.
As for China's ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Li said that China has always supported ASEAN integration and community building.
China stands ready to work with ASEAN members and other Asian countries to enhance political mutual trust, integrate development strategies, expand mutual-beneficial cooperation and increase people-to-people exchanges, he said.
The premier stressed stability, common development and a closer community with shared interests and a shared future.
Li called on the Asian media to help create a good public opinion environment for regional and global peace, development and cooperation.
The ANN is a network of 21 media organizations in Asia. This year's annual meeting was hosted by China Daily.
