China has drawn up an innovation-driven development strategy reflecting its ambition to become a leader in science and technology in the next few decades. The blueprint was released by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council.
Its goal is to turn China into an innovative nation by 2020, to support the realization of a moderately prosperous society. The next phase is to move China to the forefront of innovative countries by 2030, to lay foundation for a society of common prosperity. And ultimately make China a world powerhouse of scientific and technological innovation by 2050.
