The 4th China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Service is kicking off today in Beijing. 23 thousand attendees are expected at this five day event showcasing more than 100 exhibitions, forums and biz talks.
"Innovation and Cooperation in Service Trade" is the theme of the opening forum on the first day of this 5 day trade fair.
As the global economy struggles with recovery, the services sector is playing an increasingly important role in the growth and development of countries.
It is also the key driver of China's economic reforms and plans for sustainable development.
During the 12 five year plan, growth in China's service trade averaged 14.5 percent per year, double the world average. Last year, total trade in the service sector reached 713 billion US dollars. up 14.6% year on year.
Gonzalez, executive director of International Trade Center says favourable policies, more efforts on eduction and increase in infrustruction investments will help China to maintain growth momentum of trade in the services sector.
Close to 400 business entities from 123 countries and regions are attending this service trade fair, exchanging innovative ideas and showcasing their strength in finance, tourism, health, education and e-commerce.
