Full coverage: South China Sea Is Indisputable Part of China
The Chinese Foreign Ministry says anyone and any country, without a political purpose, and aware of the specifics on the South China sea issue will understand and support China's stance.
This is in response to recent media reports saying China is obtaining more and more support from countries and organizations over the South China Sea issue.
"The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Presidency said in an interview, that China's words and behavior on the South China sea issue clearly shows that China is a world power with responsibility, and will not infringe on the interests of other countries. Allegations that China is seeking regional domination is totally baseless. China highly appreciates the countries who are taking a just stance on the issue. China has every reason to safeguard its territorial sovereignty, as well as its rights and interests. We make a clear effort to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea. Any intimidation, threats and intentions to label China, and attempts to damage our sovereignty will not come to pass," said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying.
