Premier Li Keqiang said China will focus on protecting intellectual property and commercial secrets, while offering a fair playing field for both domestic and foreign companies.
Li was on hand Tuesday for the Big Data Expo in Guiyang and he also said there that new innovations should be given room to grow free from over-regulation. That's even if new and traditional industries sometimes conflict. Some 20,000 big data experts from around the world have gathered for the expo at Guiyang, the capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province. The province is aiming to be a center for the big data industry.
Business leaders attending the expo included Dell Chief Executive Michael Dell, Tencent Chairman Pony Ma, and Foxconn Chief Terry Gou.
