Wang Yi said the recent military actions by the United States in the South China Sea region will not help solve the issue... but will only serve to make it more complicated and increase the tensions. The foreign minister made the remarks when asked for comments on the US deployment of thousands of soldiers to the Philippines.

"I believe this will certainly increase the instability to the South China Sea. It will even escalate the tensions in the region, which is not a constructive behavior. Who is conducting plenty of military drills in the region? Who is sending vast advanced weapons to the South China Sea and keeps building new military bases? I think it is self-evident, that is the US," Wang said.
