PARIS, May 21 (Xinhua) -- French Aviation Agency said on Saturday that the EgyptAir MS804, which crashed into the Mediterranean Sea with 66 people on board, had transmitted automatic messages indicating smoke in the cabin.
Messages emitted by the plane A320 indicated that there were smoke in the cabin before the data transmission broke off, but it was still too early to confirm the cause of the accident, reports quoted investigators.

Egypt's Foreign Ministry confirmed to Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry that wreckages of the missing airplane were found near the Greek Island of Karpathos, EgyptAir said on Thursday. Earlier in the day, EgyptAir said the missing plane, an Airbus A320, disappeared from radar screens en route from Paris to Cairo Thursday at 2:45 am Cairo local time (0045 GMT), with 66 people aboard.
