The San Jose Sharks are at home to the St. Louis Blues. Team Jaws were looking to grab the series edge after the teams split the opening two games. And if Martin Jones could continue his stellar play, the Sharks would be able to grab a series lead for the first time ever -- in their fourth trip to the Conference.
We pick things up scoreless late in the first, and St. Louis turns the puck over at centre ice -- and the Sharks punce, Tomas Hertl set up from the face-off circle and he wires one past Brian Elliott. 1-zip home team.
Off to the second, and again San Jose makes the Blues pay for turning the puck over -- from their own end, the Sharks skate out -- Logan Couture finds Joonas Donskoi -- and he beats Elliott to make it 2-buzz.
Off to the third, and team Jaws adds another, as Hertl gets his second on the wrap-around, that sneaks through the keeper. 3-nothing.
St. Louis failed to score last game, and do so again, as Troy Brouwer hits the post -- he is not happy.
Martin Jones picks up his second straight goose egg, making 22 saves as San Jose wins it 3-nothing and grab a 2-1 edge in the Western Final.
