ASEAN leaders are in Sochi for a two-day Russia-ASEAN summit that is expected to end with a joint declaration to deepen cooperation. On the first day of the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin held separate meetings with several heads of ASEAN states to discuss bilateral relations.
Leaders of Russia and Singapore are pushing the idea of a free trade zone between the Moscow-led Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore. Russia and Brunei are also discussing developing closer military ties.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank President Jin Liqun says the bank stands ready to invest in infrastructure and transport projects in Russia and Southeast Asian countries.
