China's Consulate-General in Canada's Calgary has confirmed that no Chinese have been wounded or killed in the raging wildfire in west Canada.

Consulate-general Wang Xinping says about 100 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from nearby areas. Wang also says no substantial damage has been sustained by local Chinese enterprises.

The Alberta provincial government on Thursday said the wildfire currently spans 241,000 hectares, but is growing much more slowly than before.

Over 1,700 firefighters, 104 helicopters and 26 air tankers continue to battle the catastrophic fire. Over 80-thousand people have been evacuated from Fort McMurray city since the fire started.
