Chinese FM meets officials in Doha prior to CASCF

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is in Doha, for the seventh ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

Ahead of the opening, Wang met Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Araby. He said China considers Qatar a key partner to promote the “Belt and Road” initiative. He said China would like to advance bilateral cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, energy, productivity and finance.

Wang also met his counterpart from Comoros, Abdoul-karim Mohamed. Wang said the two sides have shared mutual understanding on each other's core interests, and that should be continued.

Wang told his Lebanese counterpart Geb-ran Bassil, their countries should strengthen cooperation under the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Wang also met Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Abdul-malik Al-Mekh-lafi. The two side discussed the crisis in Yemen, and Wang expressed China’s support for a peace process.

And Wang also met Algeria’s Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdel-kader Mes-sahel.
