Cameron: Leaving EU harms UK's peace and stability

British Prime Minister David Cameron says peace and stability cannot be assured in Europe, if the UK decides to leave the EU. He warned that an exit would be what he called "a leap in the dark."

"If we leave, the only certainty we'll have is uncertainty. The Treasury has calculated that the cost of every household in Britain will be as high as 4,300 pounds by 2030 if we leave - 4,300 pounds.

The overwhelming weight of independent opinion from the International Monetary Fund to the OECD, from the London School of Economics to the Institute of Fiscal Studies also supports the fact that Britain will suffer an immediate economic shock and then be permanently poorer for the long term. The evidence is clear - we'll be better off in and poorer if we leave," said David Cameron.

Cameron said Britain is "stronger, safer and better off" by remaining a member of the bloc, and warned that the country will otherwise suffer, in his words, "an immediate economic shock, and then be permanently poorer for the long term". Cameron was speaking at the British Museum in London, six weeks before British are set to vote on the Brexit referendum.
