The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has adopted a decision to further strengthen its self-defensive nuclear weapons capability.
State news agency KCNA reported the move was adopted in the ruling Workers' Party national congress on Sunday. The DPRK said such a capability should be developed "in quality and quantity".
Meanwhile, South Korea reiterates its stance that it will not accept the DPRK as a nuclear state.
"Our stance, along with that of the international community, is consistent in that we will not accept the DPRK as a nuclear state. The government will continue to put forth efforts to make the DPRK give up its nuclear program through imposing tough sanctions and pressure," said Moon Sang-Gyun, spokesman of South Korean Defense Ministry.
