Seven people have been rescued and about 28 people are trapped at a construction site in Southeast China.
The rescued are now in hospital. The first batch of one hundred rescuers are conducting search and rescue operations. More armed police, firefighters and heavy machinery are on their way.
The State Council, China's cabinet, is sending a working team to supervise the operation. But rescue efforts could be hindered by multiple obstructions on the road due to landslides, caused by the heavy rain in recent days.
Some areas of Sanming saw over 200 millimeters of rainfall on Saturday. The downpour is expected to continue over the next couple of hours.
