An explosion has hit Mongla district in northern Myanmar. The neighboring Chinese town of Daluo in Southwest China's Yunnan Province also felt an earthquake-like effect from the explosion.

A mushroom cloud as high as 10 meters was seen in Daluo after the explosion this morning. Some of the locals were reportedly injured.

The Myanmar side said the explosion took place at a warehouse storing explosives and that it was an accident caused by high temperatures. Local authorities have evacuated tourists in the area to a safer place.
