The DPRK national congress of the ruling Worker's Party continues into the second day. The congress will review works of the party's Central Committee and its Central Audit Commission.

The Party is also expected to consolidate its core leadership, by amending the party constitution and bestowing its top title on the country's leader Kim Jong Un.

The Korean Central Television broadcast an edited video of the opening ceremony on Friday, which showed around five thousand people attended the event. Kim Jong Un made an opening address before he gave a report on the Party's work.
