Rainstorms have pounded the southern and eastern parts of China over the past two days, crippling the transport system.
In southern province Hainan, many flights were delayed. In Guangdong Province, fifty cities and counties have issued warnings over heavy rain, thunder and possible landslides.
Over in the east, in Zhejiang province, rain is not heavy but it is relentless, lasting 10 days at a stretch in some cities. The port city of Qidong in Jiangsu province has seen strong winds. Authorities have urged port facilities to take precautionary measures, and for power suppliers to beware of fire risks.
