The final of the World Snooker Championships in Sheffield which concluded on Monday night. England's Mark Selby has beaten China's Ding Junhui 18-14 to claim his second World Championship, after going into the second day's play with a 10-7 advantage.

After beating Ronnie O'Sullivan to clinch the title two years ago, the 33-year-old was hoping to become only the sixth multiple world champion in Crucible history.

Ding had to fight his way through three qualifying rounds to even make the championships, before going all the way to the final, becoming China's first finalist in snooker's premier tournament.

Selby clinched the title after a break of 74 in the 32nd of a possible 35 frames.
