According to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the total value of the logistics industry from January to March reached 50.7 trillion yuan, which was up 6 percent year on year. The data shows the Chinese economy is stabilizing, and that logistics demand began to pick up in the first quarter.
Concerning the industry's performance in April, China's logistics activities sped up with the logistics performance index standing at 54.2 percent. It rose 1.3 percentage points from the previous month.
Logistic operations were active for bulk commodities related to production and construction like chemicals, coal and minerals, as well as consumer goods like food, household appliances, articles of daily use, and medical products.
