Two installation kits for Russia's Yamal Liquefied Natural Gas project have set sail from east China's Qingdao port on Friday. They are the biggest and heaviest kits being used for the project. They are set to arrive at the construction site in late June.

Yamal is a liquefied natural gas project located deep in the Russian Arctic.  It is expected to start operating next year. 85 percent of the liquefied natural gas will be transported to the Asia Pacific market. PetroChina is the second largest shareholder of the project. 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas will be transported to China annually.

It is also the first time a Chinese company-- the China Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation-- will install equipment for such a project by implementing its own technologies for liquefied natural gas production. Meanwhile, Chinese banks will offer around 10 million US dollars in loans to the project next month.
