President Hassan Rouhani and his political allies have won a big victory in run-off parliamentary elections.
Results show moderates and reformists won slightly over forty percent of the seats in Friday's elections. It's short of an outright majority but comfortable enough to pass Rouhani's reform plans. This represents a significant power shift in the Iranian parliament.
Conservative MPs have lost their dominance for the first time in over a decade. They won just about a third of seats in a humiliating performance. Independents took nearly 30 percent. Many of them are said to be reform-minded.
