China on Thursday launched an investigation into poverty caused diseases among rural populations.
The comprehensive research is conducted by National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Poverty Relief Office at the State Council. There are 70 million people in China's rural areas living under poverty. About 42 per cent of them were left to the difficult situation due to diseases. The investigation will be conducted among registered rural areas.
Information will be collected, regarding what kind of diseases those people have, how many are bankrupt after paying for medical cares and how many are unable to work due to disability.
