Foreign car makers aim to keep momentum in China

Global automakers are looking for ways to grab growth or maintain momentum as Chinese automakers regain domestic market share.  Take a listen to some of their China strategies. 

"China is biggest market, positive about potential. Investing heavily. Increase local produced cars, more local dealer network and add a few more, one of the focus is best service," said Hubertus Troska, CEO of Daimler China.

"I have to say from my pov, china is at forefront, I met alibaba execs at our event, china at forefront of digital sales and marketing. I give you one more data, over 40% of people who bought the levante did it on their mobiles. Trend born here will go worldwide," said Harald Wester, CEO of Maserati.

"I think we’re going to be bringing lots of new products, strengthening marketing sales, in marketing campaign, dealership efficiency in China. This market more competitive, requires more talent and knowhow, we’re bringing our best talents to China to compete," said Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan-Renault.

"I think electric mobility to be big part of china strategy, China will leding e-mobility, if you see infrastructure projects, this will give e-mobility boost. The other part is ride sharing, we see successful developments, we’ll also focus on mobility on demand," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Board Member of BMW AG.

"Every model is tailored for the Chinese market. We have special models only in China. Same will happen in our plugin hybrid and e-cars in the future," said Oliver Blume, Chairman of Porsche.
