The Syrian government delegation headed by Bashar Ja'afari has left the United Nations headquarters in Geneva. The members of the delegation made no comment after meeting with the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura. But Ja'afari is expected to give a statement to the media later on Monday.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the Syria crisis by phone, expressing their full support for the Syria peace talks.  Lavrov also stressed the need for Syria's "moderate opposition" to withdraw from territories controlled by ISIL and the Nusra Front.
