The foreign ministers of India and Pakistan have met, after a delay which was brought on by a January attack on an Indian airbase near the Line of Control which divides the Kashmir region.
Pakistan officials believe Kashmir remains the core issue that requires a just solution, in accordance with a UN resolution and wishes of the Kashmiri people. The talks, which were scheduled for the middle of January, got stalled following the border attack.
Relations between the pair have improved recently with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi making a stopover in Lahore last December, during which he met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
