Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizers have announced a new logo after the original choice was scrapped over a plagiarism scandal. The new design features a circular indigo-colored Japanese traditional pattern. It was chosen from a short list of four finalists unveiled earlier this month.
The design for the Paralympic Games was also revealed. It represents a slight variation of that for the Olympics, and was created by the same person. Last September, Tokyo organizers were forced to ditch a logo by Japanese designer Kenjiro Sano after allegations it too closely resembled that of a theater in the Belgian city of Liege.
