The DPRK has confirmed it carried out a submarine ballistic missile test, calling it a "great success which gave the country another means to launch a powerful nuclear attack".
The country's official news agency KCNA said the test-fire would help to bolster the underwater operational capability of the Korean People's Army. And it said the DPRK is now capable of hitting the heads of the South Korean puppet forces and the US.
The DPRK is banned from conducting nuclear and missile tests since 2006. A new resolution was adopted by the UN Security Council in March to press the DPRK to abandon its nuclear program. In response, the country vows to continue to develop its ballistic missile and ICBM system.
