US President Barack Obama is set to visit the German city of Hannover on Sunday to hold talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

He is scheduled to touch down in Hannover after noon local time on Sunday. Obama will tour and speak at a massive industrial trade fair with Merkel. He is also expected to use this trip to press for the vast US-EU trade deal, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

Tens of thousands of people protested on the streets of Hanover on Saturday against the deal.
