The Golden State Warriors looking to take a three-nothing stranglehold on the Houston Rockets in their best of seven series. The champs though would have top play a second straight contest without reigning league MVP Steph Curry, who was out with an ankle injury.
The Rockets got off to a quick start and led by 14 points in the opening q, after the Harden tap-in.
But the Champs would get a big contribution from Mareese Speights -- he had 22 off the bench including this triple -- and the lead is down to 7 before the break.
Harden would be huge for H-twon. Here he gets fouled while shooting the triple. He would have a game high 35 as the hosts continue to lead.
G-State would continue to hang around, and cut the deficit to just a single point in the fourth off the Shaun Livingston bucket, who was starting for Curry.
Final seconds and the Rockets turn the ball over, and the Warriors go the otherway with it, Livingston to Earl Clark for the lead. G-State in front 96-95 in the final seconds.
But there is still time left for Harden, and he takes it himself, spinning and hitting the turnaround, to give his side the lead with 2-point-seven to go.
Warriors have one last chance, but they end up Draymond Green dribbled the ball out of bounds, as Houston hold on and grab the win, and cut the deficit to 2-games-to-1.
In other action OKC crushed Dallas to grab a 2-1 series edge. Kevin Durant had 34 in the win. And Toronto has taken a 2-1 lead on Indiana after a 101-85 win. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan each had 21 in the victory.
