Heavy rainstorms have swept across southern China in recent days, triggering landslides and floods in various provinces and regions.
A landslide hit a primary school in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Thursday. 20 pupils and one staff member were injured.
In Hubei province, floods breached a dike as long as 50 meters in Xianning City and inundated some areas. Local authorities have dispatched personnel to reinforce the embankment. The water level of Poyang Lake of Jiangxi Province has risen by 56 centimeters.
It's now more than two-and-a-half meters higher than a year ago. Force 9 to 10 gales lashed Shidian County of Yunnan province after rains, affecting nine town and villages.
