Spare a thought for those night owls reading into the small hours! Thanks to the growing trend of 24-hour bookstores in China, it doesn't have to be a solitary activity! In Wenzhou of eastern China's Zhejiang Province, there is a chain bookstore called "City's Study".

With its warm and clean environment, and an extensive range of books available for both buying and borrowing, "City's Study" lives up to its name.
There's even a special reading area for kids.
However, this new public-service model does need benefactors to keep running.
In this case, financial support is coming from the shopping mall, which is providing an area of more than 200 square meters for free. And the books inside are from the city library.
"Actually, it's good for both. We provide an area for the bookstore and in return, the bookstore brings more customers to the mall," said Zhao Xiaobo, shopping mall manager.
Now, there are 15 such bookstores in Wenzhou, and 10 more are on the way within the year. To date, they have received almost a million visitors.
