Participants spans a wide range of ages - testament to the old Chinese adage of "giving something to get something".

This year, 30 libraries, 12 publishers, and more than 8-thousand readers participated, and about 30-thousand books have been collected. Organizers are thrilled by these record numbers.

World Book Day is a celebration, a celebration of authors and books - and most importantly - reading! Since 2011, The Capital Library of China has been organizing these book-swapping events to mark World Book Day. It shows that reading isn't necessarily a lonesome endeavor - but can be a fun activity shared amongst the community.
