China's International Medical Equipment Fair is the largest exhibition of medical equipment, related products and medicare services in the Asia-Pacific region.
The most advanced applied technologies in the medical industry can be glimpsed in these products for medical imaging, in-vitro diagnosis, electronics, optics, first aid, and rehabilitation nursing. This China-made medical imaging equipment, for example, is the leader in the domestic market, due to its complexity and the high amounts of research and development input needed.
"The PET-CT system can detect the lesion within 2mm with twice as much accuracy and resolution as the prevailing standard in the market. It will perform well in early detection screening for cancers. This leading innovation will compete in international market as the flag of Chinese medical technology," Xue Min, CEO of Shanghai United Imagine Healthcare Co., Ltd., said.
As the Chinese market and technology develops, international companies are seeking cooperation opportunities, too.
"Israeli medical technology is in the leading position in the world...and we are seeking cooperation with Chinese companies to design and produce customer-tailored equipment..." Assaf Barnea, CEO of Sanara Ventures, said.
"We’ve put forward a concept of ‘cooperative innovation’, meaning ‘making what our customers need’ through cooperative work with our peer companies. For example, we based our medicare R&D center in Chengdu, Sichuan province to boost the technology localization," Dai Ying, CMO of GE Healthcare of Greater China, said.
As a major gathering of state-of-the-art medical technologies, the 4-day CIMEF exhibition has attracted over two thousand exhibitors and 400 thousand visitors through its doors.
