One day after deadly Taliban attacks in the Afghan capital, worried Kabul residents have asked the government for better security as they go back to work.

A Taliban suicide bomb and gun assault on a government security building on Tuesday killed at least 64 people and wounded more than 347. It was the deadliest single attack in the Afghan capital since 2011.

"It was a powerful explosion and all shops were damaged. Many people who were working in the area including drivers and laborers were killed and wounded by the blast," said Mohammad Usman, shopkeeper.

"We ask the government to ensure security all over the country. When there is insecurity and fighting, we cannot continue our education, we cannot even work," Kabul resident Mohammad Zabi said.
