Shui Zheng, a student from Xinjiang has presented his answer: a micro documentary called "My Xinjiang Story".

Shui Zheng: producer, director, and star. He's a student at Xinjiang Arts University. He travelled all over Xinjiang in northwest China, from Ili to Kashgar, from Hetian to Aksu.

This is a distant place. I came here four years ago, and was attracted by the place immediately. Many friends who never visited here said to me: you must take care of yourself, because it is not peaceful.

I think I don't need to argue against these misunderstandings. I have my feet and camera, and I decided to begin this journey.

During his travels, he met interesting people and captured beauty.

And it wasn't always easy.

"I came from over the cloud. The altitude over there is 3000 meters. And the altitude of my position here is 1000 meters. I rushed down on my ''Zhua Fan" bike. This is My Xinjiang," he said.

Xinjiang is home to a number of ethnic groups.  No wonder Shui met people from different backgrounds.

"When I arrived Zhaosu to film the flowers, the road was bad, and my trolley's wheel was broken. At that time, I met a Hui businessman. He offered me a ride," he said.

2 months and tens of thousands of kilometers later, a happy ending to Shui's Xinjiang story.
