Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a message of condolence to Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa. President Xi extended condolences to the families of the victims and those injured from the earthquake.

He also said he believed the Ecuadorians will surely be able to overcome difficulties, and rebuild their homes under the leadership of their government.

Meanwhile, the country will receive two billion US dollars from the China Development Bank to finance public investment during recovery.
