China's Defense Minister Chang Wanquan has met with visiting Indian counterpart Manohar Parrikar in Beijing. The two sides are expected to talk about the construction of meeting venues along the border, and the setup of hotlines connecting their army headquarters.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry says both parties share a common goal of maintaining peace and stability, despite their differences.
