The president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Jin Liqun, says more co-financing framework agreements will be signed between the AIIB and other international financial institutions.
Jin spoke on the importance of infrastructure construction to economic development and poverty reduction. He says that resources can only be better utilized through international cooperation.
"Infrastructure construction projects are essentially larger ones. They need larger funding, with longer construction periods. So it's hard work for ordinary privately-owned enterprises and even a single multi-lateral institution. It's impossible for an institution to invest all its money in a project that needs two or three billion US dollars."
"So this has created quite good conditions for our multilateral institution cooperation. We all realize that only through multilateral cooperation and coordination can we make full use of the advantages of each of us to reach common development goals," Jin said.
