To mark the 2015-2016 China-Canada Cultural Year, quite a lot of cultural exchanges are taking place. A concert of original works has been held in Toronto involving young musicians from both sides.
This is musical communication between the East and West.
15 young musicians from both China and Canada gather in Toronto to express themselves through instruments that represent their own cultures.
The concert is one of the activities to highlight the China-Canada Cultural Year. It attracted more than 100 audience members, mostly young people.
Another dazzling exchange event is the award-winning company Cirque Eloize's upcoming debut in China. The Montreal-based company will lead a national tour in 19 cities around China with "Cirkopolis", a creative show that combines the worlds of circus, dance and theater.
Cirque Eloize has been creating moving performances filled with magic since 1993. It's one of the leaders in contemporary circus arts. The company says it continually strives for artistic perfection. Performances are based on the multidisciplinary talents of its artists. The company has ten original productions to its credit, and has presented more than 4,000 performances in over 440 cities and 40 countries.
